Greece Chamber of Commerce – Youth Hall of Fame Nominations Sought
Now in its 27th year, the Youth Hall of Fame was founded by Ralph DeStephano and is currently chaired by Rhett VanScoter.
NOMINATION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 13, 2017
WHAT IS THE YOUTH HALL OF FAME?
The Youth Hall of Fame is an annual award that honors outstanding 11th and 12th grade students from area schools. The program is an initiative of the Greece Chamber of Commerce with key support from regional businesses and area schools.
WHO ARE THE CANDIDATES?
The Youth Hall of Fame recognizes 11th and 12th grade high school students who have demonstrated leadership and community spirit through exceptional personal achievement or employment.
WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA?
To be eligible, candidates should be in 11th or 12th grade and can attend any area school (public, private or parochial). One or more of the following qualities are desirable in Hall of Fame candidates:
- an exceptional volunteer -or-
- an outstanding employee -or-
- one who has given service to the community or other peers -or-
- one who had coped with a life challenge – physical, social, or mental (Parental permission required) -or-
- one who has overcome personal tragedy (Parent/Guardian permission required)
HOW ARE THEY SELECTED?
A committee comprised of representatives from the Greece Chamber of Commerce, regional businesses and area school representatives will review nominations and make selections based on the award criteria.
WHEN AND WHERE ARE NOMINATIONS DUE?
Applications are due by February 13, 2017. Nominations will be confirmed in writing within two weeks of receipt. If you do not receive confirmation, please call 227-7272.

- Community Youth Agencies
- High School Teachers, Counselors and Administrators
- Service Organizations
- Area Residents
WHEN IS THE AWARD PRESENTED
Hall of Fame recipients will be honored at a special program on May 4, 2017.
