Greece Regional Chamber Names Small Business and Microenterprise of the Year

On Thursday, November 9, 2017, the Greece Regional Chamber hosted the 2017 Small Business Awards, along with Presenting Sponsor Genesee Regional Bank, and announced the winners of the 2017 Small Business of the Year and the 2017 Microenterprise of the Year Awards.  Selected from a field of over 60 nominees, Deborah Ham Whitt Agency was the recipient of the Microenterprise of the Year Award and Ridgemont Country Club was the recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award. The Small Business Awards featured New York State Senator Joseph Robach as the Keynote Speaker, and was emceed by Entercom Rochester’s Steve Hausmann, Co-Host of the WBEE “Morning Coffee Club” on 92.5 FM, and WHEC-TV’s Nikki Rudd, Co-Anchor News10NBC Today.  The event, held at the Rochester Airport Marriott Hotel, was supported and attended by business and community leaders from throughout the region.

“The Greece Regional Chamber is honored to be able to put a spotlight on the significant contributions and achievements of small businesses in our community, which are so essential to both our regional and national economies,” said Sarah Lentini, President and CEO of the Greece Regional Chamber.  “We believe strongly in the power of small business to improve and transform our communities.”

Congratulations to Andrew and Carrie Morabito of Morabito Hearing Aid Center, 95 Canal Landing Boulevard, Suite 5, on their Grand Opening celebration held on November 1, 2017. The Greece Regional Chamber of Commerce was honored to be able to mark and celebrate this important occasion with them and wish them success with their new business! Joining Greece Regional Chamber Board Chair Russell Herman and President & CEO Sarah Lentini for this occasion were Andrew Conlon, representing New York State Senator Joseph Robach; New York State Assemblyman Peter Lawrence; and several Greece Regional Chamber members.

Yeti To Work Opens in Rochester – Congratulations to Corey Listar and Matt Weinrich owners of Yeti To Work, 550 Latona Road, Building D, where a ribbon cutting celebration was held on October 17, 2017. Greece Regional Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Sarah Lentini, along with Aaron Baker, representing NYS Assemblyman Peter Lawrence; Jeff Adair, Executive Director of Imagine Monroe; Greece Chamber Board Chair Russell Herman, owner of Pet$aver Healthy Pet Superstore, and several business members of the Chamber were delighted to join in marking the occasion.

•Greece Chamber and Excellerated Performance to Offer Business Development Training – The Greece Regional Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Michael Caceci, owner of Excellerated Performance, to offer a seven-week training program on Strategic Business Development, beginning January 11, 2018. The program will help participants gain skills and mastery needed for strategic business development, including processes essential for sales and marketing. The course is designed to teach business leaders and professionals how to improve at selling anything – from a product to professional services to a concept proposal – and learn how to bring negotiations to an effective close.
