Hiring begins of 120 Chick-fil-A team members for upcoming spring opening in Greece

Chick-fil-A franchise owner Alan Taylor has begun hiring upwards of 120 new team members in preparation for the projected April grand opening of metro-Rochester’s first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Greece.

When the stand-alone Chick-fil-A opens at 2140 W. Ridge Rd., it will be the realization of a dream for long-time Greece resident Taylor who has worked as a local bank executive for many years. He grew up in a military family and moved around the country before eaning bachelor’s and master’s degrees and completing his doctorate in organizational leadership from Northcentral University. Taylor moved to Greece in 1999 and immediately fell in live with the community where he met his wife, Elizabeth, a Greece native.

Taylor first tried a Chick-fil-A sandwich as a teen and immediately became a fan of the freshly prepared food. When his brother got a job as a team member and later with the chain’s corporate staff, Taylor learned more about the company’s focus on genuine customer service and having a positive impact on the communities it serves. In 2010, Taylor drove 12 hours in a snow storm to talk with company leaders about becoming a franchise owner but there was a catch – he only wanted to open a Chick-fil-A in Greece. Told there were no plans at the time, Taylor resumed his business life in Greece but was thrilled years later when Chick-fil-A began planning for an Upstate New York expansion and he was eventually named franchise owner in Greece.

The new Greece restaurant will include drive-thru service featuring two ordering lanes merging into a single lane for pickup as well as a dining room and outdoor patio seating. The restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., offering a full breakfast menu until 10:30 a.m.

Taylor has begun hiring as many as 120 team members as he builds his Greece staff. He is filling full-time and part-time positions in all areas of the restaurant, including leadership development, hospitality, catering, training and marketing. Each position will include benefits such as scholarships for continuing education. In addition, Chick-fil-A restaurant team members appreciate having Sundays off, flexible schedules, and the family atmosphere fostered at the restaurant.

Named one of the “best places to work” by Glassdoor, Chick-fil-A is known for hiring, developing and retaining talent, offering a supportive workplace with opportunities for leadership development, respect for work-life balance and competitive wages.

Chick-fil-A team members are eligible for the chain’s initiative, Remarkable Futures, which provides $4.9 million in annual scholarships. Ranging from $2,500 to $25,000, the scholarships are based on leadership, community involvement and academic achievement.  Over the years, Chick-fil-A, which employs more than 75,000 people through corporate positions and franchised locations, has provided almost $38 million to help pay for college.
