Greece Performing Arts Society Presents “Summer Pops Concert”

The Greece Performing Arts Society will present their “Summer Pops Concert” on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 2pm at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 3000 Dewey Avenue, Rochester, NY.

Directed by BJ Comer and Jonathan Allentoff, this concert will feature performances by the Greece Concert Band and the Greece Summer Symphony. The Greece Summer Symphony highlights the special collaboration between the Greece Symphony Orchestra and the Greece Community Orchestra, with local performers of all ages joining together for an inspiring summer music experience.

Noted Rochester vocalist Michael DeLuca, who has been showcased on stage in venues across western New York, will perform four Hollywood favorites, including “Around the World in Eighty Days”,”Moon River”, “Pure Imagination”, and “Time After Time.” DeLuca studied voice at The University of Buffalo and maintains an active performance schedule with multiple ensembles in the Greater Rochester area.

The program also features the Greece Concert Band playing Beethoven’s “Egmont Overture”, Copland’s “Outdoor Overture”, and Dvorak’s “New World Symphony Finale” as well as Schickele’s “Unbegun Symphony” performed by the Greece Summer Symphony.
