The Greece Historical Society hosted a fall program on October 10, 2017 at the Greece Public Library.

Blanche Stuart Scott, who was born in Greece, was a pioneer in the automotive and aviation industries. In September 1910, only weeks after completing a cross-county drive through the United States, she became the first American woman to fly an airplane.

Maureen Whalen brought Blanche Stuart Scott to life with her portrayal of this historic local figure. Her presentation took place before a large crowd in the Welsh meeting room.

The program was produced using recordings of interviews with Blanche Stuart Scott, and excerpts from her unpublished autobiography.
