Taxpayer Savings with LED Lights

The Town of Greece researched the possibility of putting in LED lighting at the Town Hall Campus and all town-owned buildings, and wherever it is feasible they are doing it.

Several buildings on the Greece Town Hall Campus now have LED lights. This includes the Town Hall, the Library, the Community and Senior Center, the Court, and the Department of Public Works Facility.

LED lights will also be installed for the campus parking lot, campus sidewalk, and the campus flag pole. Total installation should be completed by the end of November.

Additionally, last summer the Town tested out several varieties and brightness factors for LED street lighting on a section of Hillbridge Drive in order to replace existing street lights in need of replacement with LED. The Town received and appreciates the input from residents and many members of the DPW staff in determining the correct brightness and lighting style.

LED lighting is more economical and typical bulbs can last up to 20+ years. The latest road work being done on Harvest Drive will include LED street lighting and will be completed by year’s end.
