Representative from the DEC coming to the Town of Greece for Resident Informational Meeting on Coyotes

A representative from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will be in the Town of Greece on Tuesday, August 7th from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. He will be giving a presentation on coyotes, which has been a topic of conversation for many residents in recent days. The presentation will be from 6:00pm – 7:00pm, with a question and answer session being held from 7:00pm – 7:30pm. This informational meeting will take place at the Greece Community and Senior Center Multi-Purpose Room.

Scott R. Smith, who is a Wildlife Biologist, Division of Fish, Wildlife, and Marine Resources for the NYSDEC, will conduct the presentation. Mr. Smith has presented on the topic of coyotes in New York State in the past and is very knowledgeable in the field.

“I thought it was important to get out in front of this issue regarding the state-wide rise in the Coyote population. Greece residents are welcome to join us for this informational presentation and question and answer session,” Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich.
