Hope Church holds Groundbreaking on $4.7 Million Dollar Expansion

By on April 2, 2019

Hope Church in Greece held a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, March 23, 2019 for their new Center for Hope care facility and the children/family program space expansion on the church’s campus at 1301 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY 14626.

This $4.7 million dollar, approximately 26,000 square foot project is, by the grace of God, fully funded. It represents a culmination of three years of planning/fundraising to create a care facility which will serve as an anchor to the Greece community to provide food as well as medical, financial, employment and veteran services for its residents. Additional space is included in the plan to create more preschool rooms as well as an engaging environment for families to learn, play and share special time together in a multipurpose space and interactive play areas.

Being mindful of the need to address the significant social challenges in the area, Hope Church has been serving the Greece community through a food pantry since 2011. Initially, there were eleven families. Now, Hope is serving an average of over 400 guest families per month with more than 100 dedicated volunteers who make it possible. The Center for Hope will allow even more people to be served.  In addition, Hope’s Vacation Bible School has served the community for over 75 years and the Hope Christian Preschool for over 57 years. Hope is excited for all the opportunities the new space will provide in creating even deeper, lasting connections with our families at Hope and in the community.

As shared by Senior Pastor Kirk Dueker, the primary goal of the Vision 2020 project is to: “strengthen families, meet targeted needs, and to introduce people to the life giving love of Christ.”
