RAPA 2017-18 Season Kickoff

By on September 7, 2017

RAPA Family Theatre, a professional troupe of adult actors, will kick off the 2017-18 season by presenting A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD: THE MUSICAL. The production will run September 30 – October 15, 2017 at the Kodak Center Studio Theatre.

Based on the classic children’s books, Frog and Toad swim, rake leaves, and go sledding, all while learning life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special. Part vaudeville, part make-believe… all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad tells the story of a friendship that endures the seasons.

Hector Manuel and Doug Dohr lead the cast in the title roles under the direction of Eric Vaughn Johnson. Manuel, a New York City resident, was recently seen in RAPA’s The Wild Party and is currently teaching classes for RAPA’s School for Performing Arts. Dohr will be making his RAPA debut after recently graduating from The College at Brockport as a leading figure in the theatre department. Hunter Ekberg, Abby Kate Herron, and Jenna Owens, familiar RAPA actors, fill out the countless other memorable creatures in the story as the snail, mouse, turtle and many, many more!

All performances are approximately one hour in length plus a short intermission. As always, children can “Meet the Characters” after each performance, with photo opportunities, autographs, and special moments.

This year, RAPA Family Theatre will be developing a Sensory Friendly Performance program specifically geared towards audience members with autism and special needs. Frog and Toad’s sensory friendly performance is on Sunday, October 1 at 4:30PM. Details on this program can be found online.

Additionally, this season RAPA Family Theatre will be hosting Character Lunches between all Saturday performances.
