Greece Athena High School Music Theatre Presents The Hunchback of Notre Dame

On March 16th the beautiful Greece Central Performing Arts Center stage will transform into fifteenth century Paris and the Notre Dame Cathedral for Greece Athena High School Music Theatre’s production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Come experience the intensity of our dramatic retelling of this famous love story based on the Victor Hugo novel.

Performances will be held on March 16th, 17th, 23rd & 24th at 7:30 p.m. and March 18th & 25th at 2 p.m.

Greece Central Performing Arts Theatre is located at 800 Long Pond Road in Greece.

The moral of The Hunchback of Notre Dame is acceptance of others which is a topic that continues in today’s schools and society. The issue of bullying and empathy for others in today’s students has been impacted with the ever-growing advances of social media. Artistic and Vocal Music Director Kathryn Dyer has been using this issue as a teaching point for the cast.

Sophia Dower, Founder of not-profit company Allied Connect will visit the cast and crew during February to speak with them on the topic of modern social media, bullying and harassment and share in an open discussion.  Sophia has been building her company and their website with her goal of continuing to provide a support system to isolated teens and a training/educating solution center to assist both area schools and students in promoting inclusion.

The cast and crew of GAHSMT’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame hopes to make a monetary donation with proceeds of this year’s production to both Allied Connect and Artists Unlimited. Artists Unlimited is a local nonprofit organization that gives people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to be in the spotlight and perform in stage productions.

Tickets are available online at and at all area Wegmans. Senior discount tickets only available at Wegmans for the matinee performances.
