RAPA Family Theatre’s The Frog Prince

By on June 7, 2018

This summer families can escape to the land of make-believe with RAPA Family Theatre’s The Frog Prince. The classic fairy tale will be performed July 14-29, 2018 on stage at the Kodak Center Studio Theatre.

The Frog Prince is one of twelve theatrical productions being produced by RAPA for their 2018 Summer Stock.

This twist on the classic fairy tale follows the story of the fair young Princess. Will she marry the pushy, yet eligible, Prince Frederick? With the help of her King and Queen, her silly ladies in waiting, and a whimsical (and often confused) Fairy Godmother, the Princess will deal with him. However, will the Princess also care for the large frog who assists her and retrieve a prized token, helping him to break the bewitched curse? Find out for yourself in this magical and timeless journey!

The Frog Prince is directed by Jason Rugg, a local drama teacher at West Irondequoit High School. The cast of professional adult actors, includes: Andrew Theede (Marcus, King of Meritoria), Trisha Zeller (Melissa, Queen of Meritoria), Jane Huffer (Princess Julietta), Kiefer Schenk (Frederick, Prince of Frenetica), Mandi Lynn Griffith-Gurell (Gossamer, Fairy Godmother), Eric William Schutt (Jonathan, Prince of Tranquilia), and Madison Kreuzer (Princess Lucinda/Dorinda).

Performances dates, include: Sat, July 14 at 2PM; Sun, July 15 at 2PM; Thur, July 19 at 7PM; Sunday, July 22 at 2PM; Sunday, July 22 at 4:30PM; Sunday, July 29 at 4:30pm

All performances are approximately one hour in length plus a short intermission. And as always, children can “Meet the Cast” after each performance, with photo opportunities, autographs, and more.

This summer, RAPA Family Theatre will be continuing their well respected Sensory Friendly Performance program specifically geared towards audience members with autism and special needs. The Frog Prince features a Sensory Friendly performance on Sunday, July 22 at 4:30PM developed by RAPA and Monroe Boces-2.

As if that weren’t enough, community organizations (including schools) can book daytime performances throughout the week. Organizations have the options to:

• Take a field trip to the Kodak Center

• Bring a RAPA Family Theatre show to a school

• Have an educational talk-back or backstage tour after the show
