Olympia HS presents- WORKING: A Musical

By on January 15, 2019

Greece Olympia Musical Theatre high school students and production team are excited to bring the performances of WORKING: A Musical to the Rochester/Greece Community. WORKING is the extraordinary genre-defining musical from Grammy and Academy Award winner STEPHEN SCHWARTZ (Wicked; Godspell) based on Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of interviews with the American workforce. This highly original and universal portrait of the American workday is told from the perspective of those that the world so often takes for granted; whose hopes, dreams, joys, and concerns reflect the truths of the people that make up a nation. Audiences will relate to the varied songs and monologues of this working man’s musical – if you haven’t done the job then you know someone who has.

WORKING employs a range of musical styles and genres from contributing composers such as five-time Grammy Award winner JAMES TAYLOR and Pulitzer Prize winner LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA (Hamilton; In The Heights). With its upbeat rhythms, songs, and choreography, WORKING makes for a strikingly dynamic and contemporary look at what it is to work and what it is to be an American worker. Performance dates for WORKING: A Musical are as follows:

•Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 PM (ASL Interpreted) & 7:00 PM
