On Monday, December 23, 2019, the 18th Annual Greece Invitational High School Bowling Tournament was held at Dewey Garden Lanes. The tournament consisted of both boys and girls divisions, a team event, and a single elimination tournament, with over 128 bowlers participating. The team format used the best five individual games of a school’s bowlers. The three-game series resulted in Webster Schroeder winning overall for boys with 3074 total pinfall, followed by Spencerport with 2961, and Hilton with 2883. The girls overall winner was Hilton with 2579 in total pinfall, followed by Greece Arcadia with 2454, and Greece Athena with 2426. Other schools participating included Gates Chili, Irondequoit, Greece Olympia, and Greece Odyssey.

Team competition was followed by a head-to-head singles competition, determined by the eight highest individual series for each school and the next eight overall high series from any school. Bowlers were seeded from 1 to 16, and a match play format ensued. The boys winner was Tommy Parsons of Hilton with a 247 to 162 win over Spencerport’s Dylan Harter. The girls winner was Athena’s Kelly McCarthy with a 165 to 146 win over Abby Unson from Gates Chili. Other awards presented were: High series girls, Kelly McCarthy, Athena – 586; High series boys, Jonathan Walker, Webster Schroeder – 714; High game girls, Haley Grabowski, Athena – 243; High game boys, Jason Gatti-Ezard, Spencerport, and Bobby Richmond, Athena – 257.

The all-tournament teams were: Boys – Jonathan Walker, Webster Schroeder; Joey Perez, Irondequoit; Jason Gatti-Ezard, Spencerport; Tommy Parsons, Hilton; Will Shannon, Webster Shroeder. Girls – Kelly McCarthy, Athena; Sydney Kraft, Arcadia; Abby Unson, Gates Chili; Taylor Lucas, Hilton; Kailee DiGiacco, Spencerport.
