Help Nominate the Town of Greece to Win Twenty Thousand Dollars during “Meet Me at the Park” Campaign Sponsored by the National Recreation and Park Association

Local parks make Greece a better place to live and shape so many of our lives. Parks are essential to our town’s health and wellbeing. They provide safe places to be active and enjoy nature – and help preserve the environment and bring people together. That is why from April 1 to April 30 Greece residents will have the opportunity to nominate our Town to receive twenty thousand in grant funding to help make improvements to one our parks.

This Earth Month, the National Recreation and Park Association is collaborating with The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Citizenship, Disney/ABC Television Group and ESPN, to revitalize parks across the United States for a third year. The community that receives the most nominations will receive a $20,000 grant to improve a local park.

By visiting NRPA.org/BeInspired, our park supporters can nominate the Town of Greece, and at the end of April, the community with the most nominations will receive the grant funding. New this year, everyone who nominates a community will be entered into a drawing for a tablet outfitted for the outdoors.

“When first running to represent the Town of Greece, I pledged to bring improvements and enhancements to our parks. Since first taking office we have made significant strides; a spray park, a new lodge at Braddock Bay, renovations at Adelaine Lodge, Pickleball courts and we are right now in the middle of a new and accessible playground for our residents, just to name a few,” Supervisor Reilich said. “I am asking everyone to join me in casting their vote to support the Town of Greece and help me make even more improvements to our great town.”

“Supporting local parks is essential to the health and vitality of communities everywhere,” Lori Robertson, NRPA Director of Conservation said. “That’s why we are proud to collaborate with the Walt Disney Company to help fund critical park improvement projects in communities in need. We encourage everyone to join us in giving back to the places that shape so much of our lives by voting in this year’s Meet Me at the Park Campaign.”

After casting your vote, residents can also encourage friends and family to nominate our town by taking a selfie in your favorite park and using the hashtags #MeetMeAtThePark, #Parkies and #BeInspired on social media.
