From the Supervisor – June 2017

By on May 31, 2017

Here at Town Hall, we have been busy coordinating all the great events and programs we have planned for this spring and summer. Our upcoming popular events include the Jerry J. Helfer Food Truck Rodeo, the Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, and our beloved Summer Concert Series. Check out my Facebook Page and the Town of Greece Website for more information!

I am pleased to announce the opening of new Greece Police Station. The 28,000-square-foot police station, located at the Greece Town Hall Campus, is now home to our 130 Greece police employees. The new police station is in an easily accessible location, will provide more space for employees to work in, and offers new technology that will make the station safer. This project was paid for through both town reserve funds and a bond. Greece Police employees have been looking forward to this new station, as they have working from a small and outdated facility up until this point.

Our annual Memorial Day Parade and Celebration was held on May 29th this year. I was honored to co-host with the Greece Town Board and the American Legion Post #468 as we remembered those who lost their lives in combat.

One of our most popular events of the year, the Jerry J. Helfer Food Truck Rodeo, is scheduled for Sunday, June 11th. This event is presented by the Town of Greece Youth Board in conjunction with the Town of Greece to support the Jerry J. Helfer Youth Engagement Award Scholarship Fund. Come out and enjoy a meal from a selection of several vendors, and be sure to stay for the first show of our Summer Concert Series, the Boomers! The food truck rodeo is scheduled from 1pm-4pm, with the concert beginning at 2pm. Check out the “Event” section on my Facebook page for more information.

As always, I enjoy hearing feedback from residents about programming and other town related matters. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office or visit our website.
