Looking back this summer, a lot has been accomplished here at Greece Town Hall. Hundreds attended our annual Jerry J. Helfer Food Truck Rodeo in June. The Fifth Annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration saw thousands of attendees flock to the Town Hall Campus for the day’s festivities. Beatlemagic entertained guests during our August Summer Concert Series. Also in August was the popular I Dig This Town event, where kids of all ages had a “Climb Aboard” experience and got to learn about different vehicles and machines.

You may have noticed some updates to our Town Website this summer. I am happy to tell you that we now have a Town of Greece Animal Control Department webpage on both the Town of Greece Website (https://greeceny.gov/departments/animal-control) and the Greece Police Department Website (http://www.greecepolice.org/divisions/animal-control). This webpage provides contact information for the Town of Greece Animal Control Department along with information and resources. Be sure to also check out my new Facebook Page for our active pet community: The Town of Greece Lost and Found Pets Page.

Another recent addition to the website can be found on the Town Clerk’s Office page. Residents now have the option to submit an online form when requesting a copy of their marriage license. Check out the quick and easy method here: https://greeceny.gov/departments/town-clerks-office/marriage-copy-request.

We have been busy setting up some new services for residents this summer. As of September 4th, residents have the option to pay taxes via credit card at the Tax Counter in Greece Town Hall. The Town of Greece is one of the first towns in Monroe County to offer this service to residents. In addition to the credit card service, another service new this tax season is a safe night drop box for residents to drop off school tax checks. The Town of Greece offers this service on behalf of Greece Residents who reside in the Greece, Hilton, and Spencerport School Districts. The drop box is located outside the Service Mall area of Greece Town Hall on the right side of the doors.

You have probably heard the exciting news that Greenlight Networks is now available in the Town of Greece. I am always looking for efficient and affordable opportunities for Greece residents and am excited that Greece is one of the first Western County towns to bring Greenlight Networks to the area.

A fun new area has been added to the Greece Town Hall Campus Walking Trail – a StoryWalk. The StoryWalk resulted from a collaboration between the Greece Public Library and the Town of Greece Parks and Recreation Department. There are 18 reading stations of the StoryWalk which are spaced along a 1⁄4 mile of the trail. The stations consist of weather resistant frames installed along the trail containing pages from children’s books. This is a wonderful way for our young residents to combine literacy skills with healthy exercise.

As always, I enjoy hearing feedback from residents about programming and other town related matters. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office or visit our website.
