A season we all know very well here in Western New York is Fall. While the changing of the leaves is great for pictures and other outdoor fall activities, clean up can be laborious. That is why the Town is pleased to offer leaf curb side pickup every fall season. Please visit the Town of Greece website to view the leaf pick-up schedule, which will occur through December 14th. As a side note, leaf bags must be out at the curb the day before your assigned pick up to avoid your house being missed during this collection process. You may also dispose of your leaves at one of the Town’s 4 Leaf drop off locations.

The Town has held several ribbon cutting ceremonies this past month. We have welcomed Family First Credit Union, which is their first location on the West side of Monroe County. Malt + Ember is a new restaurant and brewery that recently opened in the Mall at Greece Ridge. The highly anticipated Texas Roadhouse opened this past month. And finally, we celebrated the opening of BeBalanced Hormone and Weight Loss Center.

Many fun events have been organized this month. The Greece Public Library held the annual “How To” Festival this past month, which was a 3-hour long event featuring 30 “How To” activities to explore. Recruiting on the Road will be at Greece Town Hall on Wednesday, November 7th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. More than 25 businesses will be attending the job fair and featuring over 200 jobs available. I would like to encourage you to consider volunteering for the upcoming Winter Special Olympics, which will be hosted in Monroe County in February for 2019. For more information and to register to volunteer, visit the Special Olympics New York Website at http://specialolympics-ny.org/winter-games/.

Be sure to mark your calendars for our annual Family Holiday Party on December 6th. Please note the time and location change this year. The event will begin at 5:45 with Christmas Carols. The official tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6:15 at the outdoor pavilion. The Family Christmas Party will begin afterwards and will run until 8:00pm. Please join us for this festive time of holiday performances, Santa, crafts, and treats!

As always, I enjoy hearing feedback from residents about programming and other Town-related matters. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office or visit our website. Keep on the look-out for additional details regarding town sponsored events and news on my Facebook page.
