With warmer weather making its way to Greece, we are busy preparing for a summer filled with fun family-friendly events. We are excited to bring back community favorites such as the Jerry J. Helfer Memorial Food Truck Rodeo, the Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, and many more.

Our annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 27th. As in years past, the parade will proceed down Long Pond Road from Janes Road to the Greece Town Hall Campus. The parade will start at 12:00 noon and will be followed by a Remembrance Ceremony held at the Greece Town Hall Pavilion. Please join us as we honor all those who so selflessly gave their lives for our freedom.

Be sure to join us at the Greece Town Hall Campus for our first Food Truck Rodeo and Summer Concert of the year on Tuesday, June 11th from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Enjoy a delicious meal from one of the many food trucks we have participating and enjoy live music from Eddie Lee & Closing Time Band.

We have been in full swing in preparation for our Town’s Annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. This annual event will take place on Thursday, July 4th and is free and open to the public. The 5K Freedom Run will kick off the day’s festivities and lead into a day filled with family friendly activities, including a Super Hero Sprint for kids, food trucks, children’s activities, musical performances, and concluding with a fireworks spectacle. Starting off our musical performance this year is Ruby Shooz at 5:30pm, followed by Nik & the Nice Guys at 8:00pm. If you are interested in participating in the Freedom Run 5k, you can find signup forms on the Town of Greece website under the “Special Events” tab on the lower right hand corner of the website. You can also register through the Run Sign Up Website at https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Rochester/Greece5KFreedomRun. A t-shirt will be given to every person who pre-registers and a medal will be given to all who finish the race.

We hope to see you at our annual Jerry J. Helfer Memorial Food Truck Rodeo event! This event will be held on Sunday, August 18th from 1:00pm – 4:00pm and will be held in conjunction with the final Greece Summer Concert Series featuring the popular Zac Brown Tribute Band. Proceeds raised from the event will go towards the Jerry J. Helfer Youth Engagement Award Scholarship, which is awarded to a student within the Greece community that regularly upholds exemplary moral values, devotes time and energy into helping serve the Greece community, and consistently displays outstanding leadership skills.
