Don't miss

From the Supervisor – November 2019

A season we all know very well here in Western New York is fall. While the changing of the leaves is great for pictures and other outdoor fall activities, clean up can be laborious. That is why the Town is pleased to offer leaf and brush curb side pickup every fall season. Please visit the Town of Greece website to view the schedule.

The Town has held several ribbon cutting ceremonies this past month. We have welcomed My Wine and Cheese Bar, Black Hawk Lock and Key, Coco Beauty Bar, AAA, and Dr. Shirley’s Body Scanning Center. We wish these establishments the best of luck in our business-friendly town!

Many fun events have been organized this month. The Greece Public Library held the 5th Annual “How To” Festival this past month, which was a 3-hour long event featuring 30 “how to” activities to explore. Recruiting on the Road held a job fair at Greece Town Hall on Wednesday, October 16th where residents could learn about available jobs in the area. Our Fall Shredding Event was another huge success. We are happy to offer this free service to residents twice per year!

This past month, we also hosted the Law Enforcement Suicide Awareness Walk. This solemn day began with a special ceremony, where we recognized Chief Phelan’s mission to support Blue H.E.L.P. (Honor, Educate, Lead, Prevent) and unveiled the new monument in front of the Greece Police Headquarters. Following the ceremony, many came out for the 5K Law Enforcement Suicide Awareness Walk. We were honored to be chosen as the New York location for this important awareness event.

Be sure to mark your calendars for our annual Family Holiday Party on Thursday, December 5th! The popular party will feature Christmas Carols, the official Tree Lighting Ceremony, treats, a visit with Santa, and much more!

As always, I enjoy hearing feedback from residents about programming and other Town- related matters. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office or visit our website. Keep on the look-out for additional details regarding town sponsored events and news on my Facebook page: Bill Reilich Greece Town Supervisor.
